Sam and Friends Book Read our review of the long-awaited book, "Sam and Friends - The Story of Jim Henson's First Television Show" by Muppet Historian Craig Shemin.
PS, guys - Amazon will (clearly) let pretty much anybody write a review of anything - Your best bet to get attention paid to the vintage videos is to write one yourself! They usually appear in chronological order, with the most recent at the top. I've seen many reviewers write in to agree or...
I do believe he said that the character didn't have that name at the time, but I'm pretty sure he talked about the voice. Does anybody else who was there (Naperville) remember this?
You will have to buy another copy, but almost all of these places will let you buy a signed copy of the book by phone or via the internet. After I went to the signing in IL, I got one for my Dad that way. Unfortunately, even if you're there, they often (not always) won't let you in with a copy...
Funny how nobody posting to this thread is a native Spanish speaker! Where are you guys?
Maybe it's just a misspelling or misunderstanding? The other forms of "gusta" are not that far off. It could also be idiomatically correct for whatever form of Spanish the show is using that day...
I know that we have two Big Bird performers now: Carrol Spinney and Matt Vogel, but has anybody else noticed that the JTE puppet looks slightly different? I can't quite get my finger on it, but there's something about the eyes that seems different...Anybody?
This is true, but that wasn't Carroll's Elmo - Brian Muehl did that one: See http://forum.muppetcentral.com/showpost.php?p=64045&postcount=23
Other than the lack of first person, anybody know how to identify which of the three Elmos is which?
Coincidentally, Elmo's been around - a friend...
Seriously, I'd sign it if it were legible. Even with over 500 signatures, I can't imagine execs at Sesame Workshop would put it anywhere but the circular file.
Thanks for letting us know about it, though.
I'ts not entirely true that Sesame Street isn't aimed at adults. One of the central premises of the show is that it's supposed to be a show adults and kids watch together - adult humor was added specifically for that purpose.
Interesting to note about Elmo - one of the reasons he's red is...
As mentioned in another thread "We Are All Monsters" was made before Elmo had his current character, and some old versions of it don't use Elmo's name at all; in newer videos and in the show it's been modified to include Elmo's name.
Funny how easy it is to deal with another language if it's the preschool version! My son is in a Spanish-Immersion school, and I'm really picking stuff up from him...
Count, I pre-ordered at CDUniverse.com; it's listed for $42.69 there - it's a little bit more at Amazon. I think, though, you can get it for under 40 if you go to a local chain retailer like Target (though the long arm of Target might not have reached PR yet...) or another discount chain. It's...
You know, I think the set designers and creators for both SS and TMS are some of the best in the world; figuring out a way to have Muppets and people work together on the same set without any kind of a "puppet stage" is a big deal, but then the details of each set are incredible. You'd think...
Do you mean "One bannana, two bannana, one for me and one for you bannana..."
I think the title is "Bannanas Don't Grow Alone" it's on the "Sing Yourself Silly" video.
:sympathy: Poor Char - outed him/herself from the Street closet and now is about to be barraged constantly with questions from all of us....
My question - is the drastic cut in the number of episodes a money thing, a production-values thing, or some other thing? All us parents (and...
