    Operating the Big Bird puppet

The only other time I saw both Big Bird's hands being operated with in a hand close-up of "Hand Talk". But his head wasn't in shot and anyway, I don't think it was Caroll.

    Operating the Big Bird puppet

It was most likely a third hand. That probably is done when Big Bird is matted on the screen, as he is with Journey to Ernie. I've also seen that when he's standing by the stoop, but only when he's standing still. I wouldn't think you'd see that done when Big Bird is walking down the street...

    The Classic Falling Baker Sketches

That is a good question. I wish I knew who that was. All I know is that his voice was supplied by Jim Henson.

    Gina on the Sopranos?

So, what was her role on the Sopranos? Don't have HBO.

    Frazzle

I wonder if Beautiful Day was also canned after Season 1, because he was a pre-Sesame Street Henson creation and Jim wanted to use him as a Jim Henson Company Muppet. I could speculate that because they used him in Muppet Show and other post Muppet Show showings, but I guess we'll never know...

What was on the original airing of "Put Down the Duckie?"

I'll answer one of those questions with certainty. Kermit tried to get an answer from Oscar on what he liked about public television. Oscar didn't like anything PBS had to offer. Kermit gave up and alerted us that they were heading to a pledge break, which Oscar liked the sound of, because...

    Favorite Bert and Ernie Sketch

Aha! That's the 2nd part of the (Sesame Street) Banana Sketch! Bert gets through to Ernie this time that he has a banana in his ear, and now wants to know why. To keep the alligators away, etc, you get the idea.

Ernie and Bert: Cookie Reminder (1969)

And of course, it aired on the 2nd of the episodes with R2D2 and C3Po.

    Episodes with Baskerville

He was also in the Steve Martin episode as the dog comedian being auditioned. Don't remember his name, but he was Jerry in this case. Also don't remember his joke, but the punchline was "A mud poodle".

Your Thoughts: The Street We Live On

My first thought why Elmo talked in third person what because that's what a lot of the early Henson monsters would do. I remember Cookie Monster refered to himself as "Monster" at times in early skits, although "me" became his first person pronoun of choice.

Your Thoughts: What's the Name of that Song? DVD

As nutty as this may sound, which "Pinball Number Count" # was this? (Sounds crazy, I know, because they all seem so similar, but some of those cartoons I like better than others. Know what I mean?) Also what was the scene for BB's ABC-DEF-GHI song, that usual one where he's facing a green...

Your Thoughts: Sesame Street Season 35

You know, I was wondering what the Count's segment for #3 was going to be like, since usually they used the "thwee bears" dancing. With the addition of Curly Bear, that segment as it stood could cause a little confusion for the little ones. I haven't seen these new sketches. What happened...

Your Thoughts: The Street We Live On

The "10 bells" was edited into that skit/song for the longest time, it's not new. In fact I had no knowledge of "10 Little Indians" until I saw it on Noggin. They must have realized how problematic it could be and made that change very early on. I even remember Gladys the Cow making a...

    Favorite Cookie Monster Moments

I'll always have a soft spot for the skit where an Orange AM woman (Fran) thinks that Cookie Monster is a coat, puts him on and exits, oblivious to his hints. "Uh, lady? Lady?" The other fun part of that skit is seeing that pointy headed Green AM, who usually is played by Jim ("Lulu's Back in...

More questions about Muppets/Disney and Kermit on DVD

Actually, I've often thought that the Kermit from both Sesame Street and The Muppet Show were rather consistent with one another, but in both cases the older Kermit was far different than the newer. The older one seemed more cranky and stern than the later one who, while still having a...
