Hi! so I just wanted to pique the brains of the puppeteers here...have you seen the puppets used in a street show at the new Diagon Alley theme park at Universal Orlando? here's a video clip
i read that the puppets were made by Michael Curry. but just curious if any knew how they were...
Hi all! I'm assuming at least a few people here are familiar with the late comedian/puppeteer Wayland Flowers with his puppet character Madame. I was just curious if anyone had any insight or guess as to how she is made, exactly? It looks like she has a hard head, with a fabric body. Simple...
did you sew the fleece and mouth fabric together first, and then stretch it all over the cardboard tube? or did you use another method to putting on the fleece skin and red mouth fabric?
This is my first attempt at a Grover replica puppet, I got the fur from amazon.com (haha) it was royal blue long shag faux fur. He has foam in his head and jaw, and body. his arms have no stuffing, neither do hands-which have permanent arm rods. this fur works wonders in hiding seams, none of...
I have made about 20 puppets, originals and replicas (including a Kermit replica).
I am starting a Grover replica, but was wondering where can I get this fur? Or what is it called? It's fairly short, and almost nappy or mangy. Would sherpa work? If anyone has done a Grover before, what have you...
Hi, I am about to make a replica puppet of "Rod" from the Broadway musical Avenue Q. Has anyone here done this before; if so, do you have any tips for making him? I am quite curious about the lower jaw-and I plan on doing this with sheet foam, so how would I get that big round look like he has...
I am actually using a [much] modified version of the "Consumer Monster" pattern for the head- as of right now I have the mouth plate made of cardboard-if this turns out to be too stiff, i will replace with reticulated foam.
I have a few layered strips of reticulated foam above and below the...
Hi! I have made several Muppet replicas in the past, and am now planning on making a Cookie Monster or Oscar the Grouch replica.
I was wondering if anyone had done this before, and how you went about making the head of this puppet? I planned on making Cookie one consistent piece of fur, but I...
JoseG-i recently found this thread, and I am making a cookie monster replica right now! I was wondering, how did you make your head? is there any foam in it? Did you sew it all and THEN put foam in? Or did you sew the fleece around the mouthplate...?
Thanks for the great info!
I know it's been a while, but just out of curiosity, how was the nose made? sculpted foam and fleece covering? stuffed fleece?
cool! thank you:)
yes-im going to make eye sockets and get plastic eyes and make them move. i just was figuring out placing.
That's what i was thinking for beaker. but i heard once his mouth was controlled by a string or something. but i couldnt figure it out:D
