    Cookie Monster head pattern

I wonder if they still make Cookie with a deflated basketball for the mouth plate?

Enter the Cookie Monster..... a build for fun.

You really can't silence the eyes. The reason you don't hear them on Sesame Street is because, unlike your camera mic which picks up everything, the performers are wearing directional mikes which only pick up their voices. Spinning pupils are just plain noisy.

    Texturizing fur.......questions!

Air brush really is the best way to get that make up look on fabric or foam. You could try a very light stenciling with a stencil brush. Take your time and just apply a very small amount at a time. It's easy to over do it. Practice the technique on scrap material first. The brush should have...

    Mouth Question

This is actually a complex question because it depends on your construction technique. Did you build the foam base first then create a pattern for the skin? How complex is your mouth plate design? Are you going to glue the skin over the mouth plate or are you going to whip stitch the mouth to...

    White Elephant Magic

My wife was looking for a White Elephant gift for a Christmas party gift exchange. So I gave her one of my proof of concept puppets. It was an ugly thing, having one arm sewn on upside down and googly eyes. Much to my surprise, it was a big hit. This generated the request for more puppets. I...

    Puppeteer's Resources Links

That's a good question. Actual Antron Fleece, to my knowledge, is no longer made. The company that used to make it was bought out by Pepsi. What most people are talking about is similar in texture to the original formula. It's a very dyeable synthetic fabric with a very high pile. This...

Video: New Elmo premieres at the 2013 Easter Egg Roll

The voice and interaction isn't really the issue. I believe Ryan captures the character well. You can't, however, learn many years of puppeting technique in a short amount of time. Little things like keeping the mouth slightly open to create a smile. It's the nuance that makes the puppet...

    Mouth plates

I don't recommend cardboard for a mouthplate. Overtime it will break down with the sweat from your hands.
