This Saturday, June 14th we will be upgrading our forum software to vBulletin 3.0 Beta 3. Unlike the other maintenance and minor upgrades we have done since April 2002, this will be a major upgrade. Even though vBulletin 3.0 is nearing the final stages of beta mode, it is stable and will be entering release candidate and final release status later this year. We are making the change now because there are several features built-in to vBulletin 3.0 that we are needing to implement.
Several things to keep in mind about this upgrade:
1. Our forum will still have the usual purple graphic set. When vBulletin 3.0 final (not beta 3) is released, the software will have an entirely new graphic set. After the final version is released later this year, we may then customize the graphics more to fit Muppet Central. Until that time that graphics will stay as is. The custom smilies we have now will remain.
2. After the vBulletin 3.0 beta 3 upgrade, you will literally notice new features and options everywhere throughout the forum.
3. I will perform the upgrade Saturday morning June 14th. After the upgrade, we will have a specific discussion to talk about the upgrade and new features. Please keep your questions and comments on the upgrade in this discussion so that the board isn't overrun with discussions about the upgrade.
Click on the "Subscribe to this thread" link below if you would like to receive an e-mail when our forum upgrade is complete on Saturday.
Our forum will be off-line for a minimum of 30-90 minutes while the upgrade is being performed. Thanks in advance for your understanding during the transition.
