Hey all.

This is something I wanted to share with every one. It's an old gospel song that my Granny Ethel used to play on a record of The Happy Goodman Family when I was a kid, and my mom taught it to me originally because storms scared me. As I grew up, I realized that there are more than just weather storms, but life throws a heckuva hurricane at you sometimes! I decided to post it here because, when I remembered it while going through my own tough times, it brought me back out of it again.

The lyrics appear below are correct, but some of it is changed to how I sing it to make it work for me and make me feel better.

*************************
In the dark of the midnight
I have oft hid my face
While the storms crowd above me
And there's no hiding place
Midst the crash of the thunder
Precious Lord hear my cry
Keep me safe
Til the storm passes by

Many times Satan whispers
"There's no need to try
For there's no hope tomorrow
No hope in the by and by."
But I know Jesus is with me
And tomorrow I'll rise
Where the storms never darken the skies.

Til the storm passes over
Til the thunder sounds no more
Til the clouds roll forever from the skies
Hold me fast, let me stand
In the hollow of your hand
Keep me safe til the storm passes by

When the long night has ended
And the storms come no more
When we all get together
On that bright and peaceful shore
There in a land where the tempest
Never come Lord may I
Dwell with the when the storm passes by

When the storm passes over
When the thunder sounds no more
When the clouds have rolled forever from the skies
You held me fast and let me stand
In the hollow of thy hand
You kept me safe, til the storm passes by
My Lord kept me safe
Until the storm
Passed me by
