The Opposite Song

Lately, I've heard Lynard Skiner's "Gimme Three Steps" song, and am wondering if The Opposite Song is meant to be a parody of that song. The music sounds very similar, as does some of the melody. Heck, the singer even sounds similar to Little Chrissy.

Muppet Wiki doesn't say anything about it being a parody, but that doesn't mean that wasn't the intent. Gimme Three Steps is copyrighted 1973 while The Opposite Song is copyrighted 1977,so the song does pre-date The Opposite Song at least, so it is possible.
