    Top ten traditional Christmas songs*:
    10. We Wish You a Merry Christmas
    9. Sleigh Ride
    8. We Need a Little Christmas
    7. Jingle Bells
    6. Deck the Halls
    5. It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
    4. Winter Wonderland
    3. White Christmas
    2. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
    1. The Christmas Song

*Not quite sure if all these would qualify as "traditional", but they seem to have been sung by everybody hundreds of times. Seemingly nobody associates the original singers with these songs.

    Top ten Christmas pop songs/recordings:
    10. "Happy Christmas (Peace on Earth)" by John Lennon
    9. "Feed the World"
    8. "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)"
    7. "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey
    6. "Christmas Through Your Eyes" by Gloria Estefan
    5. "Merry Christmas Darling" by The Carpenters
    4. "Step Into Christmas" by Elton John
    3. "Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney
    2. "Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses
    1. "Last Christmas" by Wham

Honorable mention goes to "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy" by Bing Crosby and David Bowie. It's such a great performance, and an odd pairing. I first found out last year that one of the signers was David Bowie, which really surprised me.

I want to make a list of the top ten Christmas novelty songs, but right now I can only think of seven. Maybe I'll figure out ten great songs to post later.

Top 10 Favorite Christmas Songs (a lot of religious ones, surprisingly, considering I'm a Buddhist!)
    10. The Night Santa Went Crazy by Weird Al
    9. Merry Christmas, Darling by the Carpenters
    8. All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey (I know this one gets some flack from my fellow feminists, but I've always loved it)
    7. Do You Hear What I Hear? by Destiny's Child (though it does kind of annoy me that they omitted the last verse. You know; "Said the king to the people everywhere...")
    6. It Feels Like Christmas from MCC
    5. Sleigh Ride (any version, really, although I like the one TLC did, because it was a bit less traditional, but still had all the heart)
    4. Grown-Up Christmas List by either Amy Grant or Kelly Clarkson
    3. O Holy Night (especially the version by Josh Groban; that man has the voice of an angel...:flirt:)
    2. Silent Night (any version)
    1. Do They Know It's Christmastime? by Band Aid (I think)

Top 10 Favorite things about the Holiday Season

    Top ten overrated celebrities:
    10. Justin Bieber (I'd like to include him at #1, but it seems he's hated by everybody who isn't a 13-18-year-old girl, so that's hardly overrated)
    9. Betty White
    8. Johnny Depp (I can't believe so many women have referred to him as the hottest man alive, considering his appearance seems to change with every role he plays. It's hard to consider anybody who always changes their appearance to consistiently be "the hottest")
    7. Jonas brothers
    6. Jessica Simpson (her stupidity, whether it's real or an act, isn't really that funny)
    5. Lindsey Lohan
    4. Paris Hilton
    3. Hallie Berry
    2. Lady Gaga
    1. Ben Affleck

I find it interesting that you put Mila Kunis one, someone who at least has a track record of movies and TV acting, over people who have no apparent skill whatsoever, like the Kardashians and Bristol Palin. What don't you like about her?

Ehh, she's not the BEST actress in the world... she's a decent one, though not the best... to me, she's just become like Steve Carell or NPH, she's EVERYWHERE now, to the point I've had my fill of her.
   I love you jgidley!

Okay, fair enough. She is pretty popular now, but I think nowhere near as overexposed as the Kardashians. But that's a matter for a different thread.
  14. D'Snowth

    D'Snowth Well-Known Member

    Sure you have.

#10 is that model who got famous for some reason, I think because she posted something racy of herself on the internet or something and got discovered by someone influential in the entertainment world.

#8 is that guy who hosts The Soup, and is also on that sitcom that I can't think of right now.

#6 is that Hispanic actress you see on Modern Family, and all those Kmart commercials and what have you, and the only reason she's famous is because of her huge rack, because she really has no actual talent otherwise.
  15. minor muppetz

    minor muppetz Well-Known Member

Wow, I've probably seen them all somewhere (I'm not one to be able to name the average model I see in a picture), but I'm still in a blank as to who they are (I could google them). I don't think I've ever even heard of The Soup, and don't watch Modern Family (have I seen Kmart commercials lately?).
  16. minor muppetz

    minor muppetz Well-Known Member

I google searched her, and I do recognise some of those photos.

Of course, talent is not a requirement for models. The real qualifications to being a model are looking good and the ability to pose for a picture (I'd be surprised if there were many who had trouble posing). Oh, and I guess another requirement (or at least a bonus) for attractive models is to be willing to wear revealing clothes.

Anyway, for another list, here's my top ten favorite quotes from A Christmas Story:
    10. "You used up ALL THE GLUE on PURPOSE!"
    9. "Don't shoot at any animals or birds!" "Except the Bumpises dogs!"
    7. "It was... Soap poisioning!"
    6. "Only I didn't say 'fudge'. I said THE WORD. The big one. The mother of all dirty words. The f-dash-dash-dash word."
    5. "He looks like a pink nightmare"
    4. "I like The Wizard of Oz. I like the Tin Man."
    3. "If the boss thinks I'm working a minute past nine, he can kiss my foot!"
    2. You'll shoot your eye out"
    1. "For years my aunt harbored under the dillusion that I was not only perpetually six years old, but also a girl"

And my top ten favorite scenes from A Christmas Story:
    10. Randy worries that "daddy's gonna kill ralphie" while inside a cubboard
    9. Ralphie decodes Little Orphan Annie's secret message
    8. Ralphie imagines becoming blind due to soap poisioning
    7. Swartz's mothers reaction to Ralphie's mother telling her that Swartz taught Ralphie a dirty word
    6. the Chinese restauraunt scene
    5. Mom gets Randy to demonstrate how a little piggy eats
    4. Ralphie wears his bunny pajamas
    3. Flick gets his tongue stuck to the flagpole
    2. Ralphie's western fantasy
    1. The entire Santa Claus sequence

I recently worked on a few different articles for the "Ultimate Eurythmics" website - one on Savage's 25th anniversary and another on record collecting - and in both i referenced an album that still today remains in my Top Five Favorites of all time...so figured i'd work on getting down my top ten fave albums of all time...the list closely mirrors but still deviates from my top ten fave recording artists...

    10. Cause and Effect - Trip

    9. Fame - movie soundtrack (the 1980 original, not the remake)

    8. Cyndi Lauper - A Night to Remember

    7. Berlin - Pleasure Victim

    6. Pet Shop Boys - Behavior (the new album Elysium might actually replace this one but its too new to really declare it official yet)

    4. The Beloved - Happiness

    3. Shakespears Sister - #3

    2. Vegas - Vegas
