Trying to paint the laundry room. All those chemicals altogether make me hack and cough.

i really hope you get all of that done red piggy , with out to to much coughing and other things . i bet it will look great , my family has remoled our home 3 times in 25 years and the paint that we used really made me cough also .

And the funny part is that it is "low-odor"! However, with my asthma, detergent + bleach + paint = headache and asthma (yes, I know to ventilate properly). :)

Still, it's kind of sky-blue and will have a navy blue trim. There will be an aquatic theme.

Sometimes I like my brain. Sometimes I hate it. Last night, both... went to bed early because I had to get up at 4.45am to be at a client's home by 6. Naturally, I barely slept. Naturally, my subconscious chose THAT time to come up with a new story idea, funny enough that I went ahead and mentally "wrote" quite a bit of it. Will actually write and post soon as I'm able to.

However it means the caffeine/sugar/adrenaline high which sustained me all day is now beginning to crash...bleeeahhh....

Wow. I'm writing a kind of story for school behind the compu now, because someone in my 'team' wanted me to do that.
Actually, she said it like I was some kind of insane freak who can't talk/think normally.
Hum, I'm NOT bothered with it.
    Not at all.
    ...
Gee, I want to join the threadless muppet t-shirt contest!!!! :D :D :D

Feeling pretty snazzily...had been in a bit of a blah/blue/stuck/funk period the last 6 months or so, but the last half of 2011 looks promising. Got my own prime time Saturday 2 hour radio show I host on the big college FM radio station near me, going to a lot of conventions, getting a lot of art/design and music done and eeking toward what will hopefully be a career doing something I love. Eh, at 33 I guess a part of me feels I should be a lot farther...but I guess it helps people think Im 23. And I definitely feel a lot healthier/happier/better than when I was in my early and mid 20's.

  9. I'm doing pretty good. Been super-busy lately. Aside from work, doctors appointments, meetings with my Super Supported Independant Living (SuperSIL) workers and jewellery-making classes, I've also been helping out with caring for my younger sister's three foster kids, while my mom is in the hospital (for gallbladder and pancreas problems).

This is nothing to smile or frown about, so it's going into this thread...

I have to go to my first wake today... I've been to just standard funerals before, though I've never been to a wake; I know instead of mourning the deceased's loss, the purpose is to instead celebrate the person's life and legacy... it's still not an entirely pleasant experience, I would say, but... yeah...

Wakes are surreal and can be enjoyable. Get a drink or two in you before you start with the deep thoughts. It works better in that atmosphere.

Well, the wake really didn't have drinks or anything... it was more or less like a holiday contata... some songs were sung, some words were said by relatives... very sombre, but very dignified.

I remember eating so much cheesecake at my great aunt's wake I had to spend most of it lying down reading... a mildly different but none the less "not entirely pleasant" experience.

I'm full of holes. I had to get a flu shot and a blood test today. I am also cranky because I had to get up at 7 AM just for the privilage of getting harpooned twice. I am not used to getting up that early.
  16. D'Snowth Well-Known Member

Why would you bother getting a flu shot? They're essentially injecting you WITH the flu, you're essentially paying them to make you sick.
  17. robodog Active Member

I'm on Medicaid so it really doesn't cost anything. I actually got the shot more for my mom's sake than my own. She's concerned that with my health problems if I was to get a case of the flu it may end up landing me in the hospital. This is the first time I've ever gotten a Flu shot. Normally I don't worry with it.

I've been debating whether I should get one this year -- never have before, and except for this one particular virus which recurs every 10 mos to 2 years and whups my butt good, I usually don't get sick. BUT I am looking after seniors now in my job, and some of them are already medically compromised (wife of one of my current clients is on chemo, which wipes your immune system, doesn't it?) so I may do so, just as a courtesy to them in case I even wind up carrying the flu bug. Even if I don't get sick, I don't want to be the cause of anyone else getting sick...hard to decide.

I ave asthma so I keep getting told I should get one. I'm skeptical though because the last time I got one I got sick almost immediately afterwards. I don't know if it had anything to do with the shot but I was miserable. Plus I don't like shots in general :(

I have asthma, and nobody even tells me I should get one. :smirk:
