    No, otherwise shouldn't still be a regular Muppet character on the show today.

    Zoe debuted in 1992, the year they switched taping studios and the year they started using that crazy Calypso opening theme and the current closing credits. "Around the Corner" didn't come until a year later.

    Also, unlike other newer commonly-seen Muppets, Zoe is performed by one of the original Muppeteers from the show's early years; Fran Brill. Then again, she's the youngest of the original Muppeteers (and Frank Oz is the second youngest), so I can see why she's still working with the show.

    I thought that Zoe debuted in 1993, the same year that they started using the new set. But there were many characters from 91-92 that were on the show at the time that were no longer in use after season 29 which was the 97-98 season.

    Yeah, he passed in 89. Then that lost John and Jeff, and in addition to Joe and Jim. Good things we still have Joan.
