My wife and I are trying to figure out a way for her to stay home with our newborn son, and still pay the mortgage! LOL. We've been busting our buns looking for legitimate Stay-at-Home jobs that will pull in anywhere from $1000 to $2000 dollars, and that's on the higher end. Is that too much to hope for?

It seems like everything we look into is either a scam, or they want too much money up front, or they want us to peddle products to our family & friends. None of those are really options for us. Ideally, we'd like to find something where we're using skills we've gained over years of working for other companies, but just doing it from home! Something like transcribing, or organizing e-files, you know, office-type stuff,

If anyone out there is doing something successful, PLEASE share your story with me. This is a serious call for help, but no, I'm not interested in trying Harry Krishna. :stick_out_tongue:

Cheers all, and thanks.

Hey Anthony, my wife has been looking for something similar too, but it's very hard to find. I tried to negotiate a deal with my work last year to work at home three days a week, but couldn't convince them either.

Now my sister-in-law does work from home. She worked as the financial manager at a doctor's office for years, and when she had her kids, was able to convince them to work from home. She dropped down to part time and may have even taken a pay-cut, and drove into the office once a week just to drop off her work. She was able to get this perk by working there for years and developing a strong relationship with her boss.

Along the way, she joined a website called etsy and started her own online custom canvas art store. That blossomed into her own website and has become very profitable. She brings in anywhere from $300 to $1000 a week. She's quit her job several times, but keeps going back because sometimes there are "dry weeks" where she's not pulling in any money.

Like what you've found, most things seem to be some type of sales gimmick. My experience is to start your own business with a part time job for security. The problem is it takes a LOT of work and time, which is usually hard to do when you have kids, especially a newborn.

The other thing I'm aware of is computer technical help that can be routed through a home ISDN line. I'm sure there's more out there. Keep searching though, and hopefully you'll find something. I'm rooting for you!

Hey! I'm currently trying to find a work from home job for myself, and it's proving difficult. You might be interested in Tory Johnson's website: http://www.womenforhire.com/ She works for Good Morning, America so she's legit and has a lot of good ideas on how to bring in extra money

I know that my brother takes in calls for HSN at home. I don't know if he makes that kind of money, but yeah, it's a job.

I have finally found a good site to work use to work from home. I have searched for awhile now, and finally found it. Here is my link http://thecashsaloon.com/members/register.php?ref=christ4moms
All you have to do is click on links. You get a $5.00 sign-on bonus, as well as a lot of hints to help you get better. I am not talking about a lot of money, but you will get more as you get better at how to do the clicks. As I said there is a lot of help, and the Admin really love to help you. They are always available to talk to you.
