Oh good, I'm not too late to make the obvious statement of that he's now in that DELUXE apartment in the sky. Whew! But seriously, my family and I were JUST talking about this a couple days ago when my dad thought he was dead and I had to look up to see cause I didn't remember hearing about it. I guess I now know the answer.

Interesting fact on Sherman Hemsley (article comments may contain language, beware): He was a big fan of progressive rock bands like Yes and Gentle Giant, and recorded some songs with Yes lead singer Jon Anderson that remain unreleased. Perhaps one of the most unlikely musical combinations of all time.
