Ostrich Feather Wig

I really want to know how to make an Ostrich Feather wig.

I know its easy to buy a Boa, But i want to make it myself.


Any ideas ?

OK. So this is the Puppeteery forum. What puppet (Big Bird excluded) wheres an Ostrich Feather wig?

Big Bird doesnt wear an Ostrich Feather wig.

An Ostrich Feather wig is what is on the Fraggle Puppets heads.
That hair is made from Ostrich Feathers.


I want to know how to make a whole head of hair form them.

You ready?!

Go out, buy that feather boa, and when you make the puppet, make the head area where the boa will be going about 1/4 inch lower into the skull so the size will match.

There's a string inside the boa, you want to stitch that in very small stitches to the head, starting on the INSIDE and begin sewing in a loop, like the Milky Way galaxy looks, spiraling out toward the head, then sew the end against the boa where it needs to be clipped.

Go to the photogallery of www.midsouthcartoonists.com and in one of the albums is a photo of me and my main cast of puppets, there's a puppet named Bernetta Duck whose hair is a feather boa, also Rocky Robin is in the Peanut Gallery album who I had on display, look at his plume. His plume has a wire inside it.
