I think the funky music in this makes it a lot more tolerable than the original version.
Did you ever hear the Mickey Mouse Disco version? Somehow I find that slightly more tolerable, but not by much... I always had issues with that song. Actually, I strongly remember the one used on Shalom Sesame. Used to fast forward through it all the time. of course, the best cover of the song WAS done by the Muppets... or rather Spike Milligan and the Muppets.

But before we go totally off subject:

Google Translate was a might fuzzy, BUT it says something to the extent of Rechov Sumsum Series 3 Opening 1986 Audio

Dutch version of "Bert's Blanket":

Apparently, part of the joke on Sesamstraat is that Bert is a terrible singer. That isn't a bad idea, but it makes his verse in this very hard to sit through. The sheep, however, sound great.

Holy Heck! Garibaldo is CREEPY! Maybe it's that really deep low pitched voice of his. I wasn't expecting that at all.

But hey, he sings Brazilian Portuguese "Everyone Makes Mistakes, so why Don't You?" I though only Plaza Sesamo currently was the only international Sesame Street that rerecorded American songs with their own characters.

The Pakistani version, Sim Sim Hamara, has its own Youtube channel, with some preview clips:

Looks very fascinating. Interesting that some of the characters, particularly the humanoid ones, look very different from the typical Muppet style. I like the green dragon/crocodile-type character the best.

Yeah... they're almost a Jim Henson Hour level of ambiguous Muppet/Creature Shop. They wouldn't be the first extremely humanoid characters (Gaspar from Barrio Sesamo comes to mint), but it is a rarity. Most international co-productions just want specific animals and monsters.
