Fraggle Rock is mentioned in 1983 hour of I Love The 80s Strinkes Back, One Guy has a Red Fraggle doll, Some had Mokey in a car, and they only show scenes from "Beginnings".

I got it recorded. They didn't bad-mouth the show either which was cool. Juliette Lewis ( spelled right? ) got all spacey about the fraggles at the end of the segment. I was kinda wondering where they got that Red doll. Maybe I saw it on eBay.

Of course, some fans will prolly have a fit about the pot reference but it didn't bug me. <

I didn't see this show. What was "the pot reference"?

Actually, I can probably guess. I have a bunch of friends who aren't Fraggle fans and who are always looking for drug symbolism in Fraggle Rock. It's actually pretty easy to find if you're looking for it -- pretty much anything is easy to find if you're looking for it.

They say that Mokey's song "The Joy" in _Invasion of the Toe Ticklers_ is pretty trippy (especially the "smell the grass" line).

And don't get them started on Cantus and his Magic Pipe.

I believe it was Hal Sparks ( or that guy with the glasses ) who referred to it as " pot induced puppetry " and commented on the overall " hippy " look to the fraggles. They then do a sort of scene wipe in the shape of a marajuana leaf.

I'm surprised no reference to Whoopie Water came up. I bet the fraggles could do wonders with that stuff if they could find a way to harness it without causing the Rock to cave in. Heh heh. It's prolly like fraggle Viagra.

I've always wanted to watch fraggles while I was high... not that I'm supporting drug use or anything. I don't even know where to buy the stuff. When I watch them while I'm drinking, I usually end up in tears though, tears of longing.

Nick ( here's the obligatory Gobo smirk )
