Which is your favorite Kermit Voice Actor? Jim Henson or Steve Whitmire?
personally i like steve whitmire he sounds way nicer and more happier tone then jim idk why and dont take offence over my opinion... and he has a wonderful singing voice
I do respect you opinion, but.... WHAT?! You like Steve better than Jim, Kermit's creator?! Haha. Just kidding, dude. I like them both in different ways, but I will always have a soft spot for Jim's.
I believe you would want to say "Puppeteer", or "Muppeteer", not voice actor.
I commend Steve for carrying the torch, but Jim Henson will always be Kermit for me.
sorry its just jim idk what it is i know hes the origin but he just seemed really boring in a way sure he had great charaters but still
I was just kidding. Jim's was a little more mellow than Steve's. I respect your opinion.
Hm...I don't care for either as voice actors...I do, however, like them both as Muppeteers...
This is kind of a loaded question and while I definitely have to say I like Jim Henson because that's the Kermit I grew up on I can't really say I don't like Steve either. They both bring something different to Kermit. I think one tends to do things better then the other but I try not to compare too much because their both two different performers who have their own style. But all in all Jim's Kermit will always have a special place in my heart and he will always be Kermit to me and that's something
Steve for me personally won't ever be able to touch.
However I fully accepted Steve as Kermit a long time ago and think he is doing a bang up job of carrying the torch. Heck he made me cry like a baby in The Muppets so he's gotta be doing something right.
I like Kermit *FULLSTOP*
Because Jim Henson, Steve Whitmire, and Artie Espesito are PUPPETEERS, not voice actors.
Speaking of Artie, what's up with him? I know he puppeteered Kermit on occasion. Does he still work for them?
Nice way to make a new member feel welcome people. Sheesh. But of course that's how I was treated by certain people on here when I first joined so I'm not really surprised.
hmmmm... I agree with Pinky on the comparison with Jim Henson and Steve...Jim is and always will be JIm...who he is and why I admire him goes so much beyond Kermit the Frog...but at the heart of it everything Steve does is really just trying to catch that magic of Jim's...I do love Steve's Kermit....and we could have a worse puppeteer take over for Kermit...Steve has kept Kermit alive and done an amazing job with him...but JIm is and always will be the heart and soul that made Kermit who he is today
I could not choose against Henson because he was Kermit. He originated the character, he performed him and defined the character we came to love.
I could not choose against Whitmire because he took up the huge, daunting task of following Jim's act, and stuck with it, and has kept improving to the point that now I don't see Jim's Kermit, or Steve's Kermit, I just see Kermit.
That which exists is greater than that which does not exist. Kermit exists in both their hands. (Or on their hands.)
Slackbot summed it up better than I ever could. I'll leave it at that.
Well Kermit has always been lifted to new heights over the years...yeah sorry for that lame joke. But I couldn't resist!
Jim Henson. No Question.
I love them both! I love Kermit!
On a slightly different note yet still on Jim Henson. Just watching The Muppet Movie and I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but if you listen to the song Rolf and Kermit sing together the song ends with three voices XD When Kermit and Rolf hold out the O in the line "Hope something better comes along" they hold it out together and then Rolf badops with the piano... while still holding out the O haha!
I love Jim because he was the original voice for Kermit, but Steve does a good job too.
To be honest, it's hard to decide! I think both have done a very good job with Kermit.
