Does any one know what is used to make eyes for the humanoid puppets in Avenue Q. They seem to be slightly domed. I have been using white craft foam, but i am not happy with how it is coming out?
Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful.

They are custom made white styrene vacuformed shapes. The forms used to vacuform the white styrene plastic over are called "keys," and most were sculpted in clay, then molded in silicone, then cast in aluminum epoxy to withstand multiple pulls at high temperatures. The keys that aren't aluminum epoxy are mostly cast in plaster (which has a much shorter lifespan).

PS - Believe it or not, the Bad Idea Bears and Trekkie Monster still have eye whites made of plastic spoons! Booyah!
