That one I remember. It went, "There's a Hole in the Bucket, Dear Liza, Dear Liza." I'm pretty sure it's on the lyrics archive. As for what season it was on. I don't know exactly. I think it was in the 80s when I saw that one.

If anybody has this in any form please let me know. I will make it worth your while.

I'd love to add it to Muppet Central Radio.

I loved this sketch/song. I wish I had a copy of it. It basically starts of with the old man going to his wife:
There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza
There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole

The wife responds with:
So fix it, dear Henry, dear Henry
So fix it, dear Henry, fix it

As he tries to fix the hole, he finds something wrong with the tool he will use, and Liza tells him how to fix each one, but then he finds something wrong with the next tool, and so on and so on(with the wife getting more and more irritated with him as the song goes on). Till finally he finds he needs to use the bucket, but of course, the bucket has a hole in it, which causes the wife to faint(I think).

If I remember correctly, Jim did the voice for Henry, but I forget who did Liza's voice.

It's definitlely funnier seen than heard(just to see the interaction between the two).

I'm guessing that Liza was probably a female puppateer such as Fran Brill or Camille Bonora. But I don't know for sure.

Wow! I totally remember that!

Yes, I remember I used to love this sketch as a child! And yes, I do remember seeing quite a bit in the late 1980s. My brothers and I used to have this song pretty well memorized.

Henry: "There's a hole in the bucket, Dear Liza, Dear Liza,
There's a hole in the bucket, Dear Liza, a hole."

Liza: "Well, fix it, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
Well, fix it, dear Henry, dear Henry, well fix it!"

Henry: "With what shall I fix it? Dear Liza, Dear Liza
With what shall I fix it? Dear Liza, with what? (hmm.. huh?)

Liza: "With a stone, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry
With a stone, dear Henry, dear Henry, with a stone"

This goes on for quite a while until with a hilarious ending. Henry sings kind of slowly and Liza sings really fast. The lyrics probably are available somewhere, but it would be cool to find either an audio or video recording of this. It's very cool and quite funny.

Henry: There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza,
There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole.

Liza: So fix it dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
So fix it dear Henry, dear Henry, fix it.

H: With what should I fix it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I fix it, dear Liza, with what?

L: With straw, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
With straw, dear Henry, dear Henry, with straw.

H: But the straw is too long, dear Liza, dear Liza,
The straw is too long, dear Liza, too long.

L: So cut it dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
So cut it dear Henry, dear Henry, cut it!

H: With what should I cut it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I cut it, dear Liza, with what?

L: Use the hatchet, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
Use the hatchet, dear Henry, the hatchet.

H: But the hatchet's too dull, dear Liza, dear Liza,
The hatchet's too dull, dear Liza, too dull.

L: So, sharpen it, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
So sharpen it dear Henry, dear Henry, sharpen it!

H: With what should I sharpen it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I sharpen, dear Liza, with what?

L: Use the stone, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
Use the stone, dear Henry, dear Henry, THE STONE!!!!

H: But the stone is too dry, dear Liza, dear Liza,
The stone is too dry, dear Liza, too dry.

L: So wet it, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
So wet it dear Henry, dear Henry, WET IT!

H: With what should I wet it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I wet it, dear Liza, with what?

L: (moves her rocking chair over to Henry and sings fast)
With water, dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
With water, dear Henry, dear Henry, WATER!!!!!

H: With what should I carry it, dear Liza, dear Liza,
With what should I carry it dear Liza, with what?

L: (crying)
Use the bucket dear Henry, dear Henry, dear Henry,
Use the bucket, dear Henry, dear Henry, the bucket!

H: Uh, Liza????
There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza,
There's a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, a hole.

At this point Liza takes the chair and goes off to live with her mother which is probably what Henry wanted in the first place!

Such a classic sketch.One of my favs.
