Spidey

hey jerky, apparently enough people over the age of 10 went to see my "Spiderman" movie (does $400 million sound like a lot?) compared to the measly "Muppets From Space" (maybe $30 million)
Hey, you like paperclips, I like jellybeans, and though I'm not crazy 'bout any of those things, still...I reserve judgement of you until you start acting like an adult.

Would you act this way as a dinner guest? I mean, invite yourself over and start criticizing the food? We're all on this thread because we are interested in Sesame Street - who cares why!

muppet fans are so emotional

you guys are way too emotional. i think you need a reality check and you need to get a grip. i like the muppets as much as the next guy, but they are puppets. they are not real people.

i think everybody thinks i hate the muppets. i don't hate them, i like them very much. but they are just puppets.

why is everybody so crazy about these particular puppets?

they are cool and funny and entertaining, but whats the obsession?

let me know, because i need to understand you before we can get along

You already explained why we love them...

I think by now we know that they are not real people, But why do people love anything ?

yeah but come on

you guys are insane about this stuff, right?

you look forward to the next season of sesame street?

you guys really argue over whether or not pigy and kermit are married?

some people say they got married in the movie, but it doesn't count. some say they heard on an interview...blah blah blah.

is anybody going to try and stalk a muppet? maybe assassinate one? like john lennon?

whats the deal?

Guess what, like has already been mentioned, you answered your own question.

First, you list "fans" in your reply subject. The word FAN is short for FANATIC. Of COURSE we'll be emotional about something we love. What do you love most of all? You're going to be emotional/fanatic about that because it touches you in a particular way.

Plus, nearly all of us here were raised around these characters and having had them be a part of our lives for so long, we can feel a kinship, something familial, about them all.

There isn't a necessity to search for reason to understand someone to get along with them, it's in the fact that everyone here LOVES MUPPETS, and all things Jim Henson, that brings us together. There's some folks on this message board that, over the years, I've come to like very much...even as friends, and in many of my posts you'll see where I say, "I love my MC family," cause I do.

So, simply put, there's nothing relatively so hidden that you need to find an understanding about, and you shouldn't need a reason to get along except for the fact that we're all fans here.

You're a fan, too, right?

(oh, yeah, you wrote:
"you guys are insane about this stuff, right?"
Well, yeah...but some of us are just insane. Period. )
