The problem with e-mail and internet responses is you can't hear sarcasm or sincerity in someone's voice. If he wasn't trying to be funny, that's just ridiculously rude. But if he was... the A.H. comment just... not much of a joke unless he has a weirder sense of humor than his comics have.
Remember how Tracy Ullman used to end her show by telling everyone to "Go home!" I knew someone who tried that joke at a public event and it just crashed and burned, lol.

So yeah sometimes humor just doesn't translate.

@heralde, I also loved that show growing up. Its been a while...Off to youtube!
It's also still available on VHS from Amazon. I bought all three, lol.

So after this incident, I felt like I needed proof that not all comic strip artists are jerks, so for the past three months, I've been corresponding via e-mail with Stephan Pastis (creator of Pearls Before Swine) and you will not find a nicer, friendlier guy in the world!

Here's a recent exchange that's more perplexing than offensive: I e-mailed Tony Millionaire and asked him where the idea for Drinky Crow came from. His response in full was "My brain."
