    Jason Segel's involvement with Cheapest

Oh, I agree that it wouldn't make sense historically, but I have a feeling such a story credit would be used more in a marketing sort of way, as if Jim was somehow giving the movie a morbidly vague seal of approval...especially since Disney can't bill the characters as "Jim Henson's Muppets"...

    Jason Segel's involvement with Cheapest

That's more than likely what they're up to, as they still want to convey this idea that they have somehow acquired the magic that created the Muppets as opposed to just the characters and the physical puppets. To echo what Super Scooter said, the poster/advertising/etc. will most likely have...

    Celebrating Jerry Juhl

Sigh...another person whose significant contributions helped make the Muppets the endearing, touching, entertaining characters that they are is gone. Granted Jerry more or less retired from the Muppets several years ago, but this loss is perhaps as spiritually crippling to the characters as...

I got the Muppet Christmas Carol DVD

I'm waiting. After all, I already have the VHS version. Buying a DVD with extras but a modified aspect ratio is kinda like buying only half a DVD. It would be similar to getting a restored movie that was in letterbox, but edited.

Muppet Show DVD season box sets announced

Umm....was there a press release made for this yet? If so, then that would probably answer a number of the questions in this thread.

    Christopher Reeve: 1952-2004

I wasn't sure where would be the appropriate place to post this, but the Muppets' good friend Christopher Reeve died of cardiac arrest Sunday at age 52. "Brush up your Shakespeare..."

Series 8 Arrives: When and Where

If there are any Chicago-area fans out there, both the Sam Goody and the Suncoast at Yorktown had Shifty-Eyed Sam. The latter also had the Marvin repaint.

    Best Of TMS DVD sets...

The fifteen DVDs were originally released via mail order by Time Life in 2001 and 2002. Shortly thereafter, Sony obtained the rights to rerelease these DVDs at retail outlets (in other words, actual stores). In fact, Sony's original plan was to go as far as releasing twenty different volumes...

Muppet Wizard of Oz to film in September

Actually, many Hispanic groups wanted him back on television, as he displayed positive qualities by being a hero.

Do you like Disney owning the Muppets?

I'm kinda curious about this supposed Jim Henson end credit. Would this be as in a Jim Henson logo card or just a "Characters created by Jim Henson" text credit (which is probably a contractual condition anyway)?

Muppet Show DVD's on clearance until June 30

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess these are most likely the Columbia versions.

Any Pics of the New Animals?

I think they meant pics of the figures with their final paint schemes, since each figure will have a different colored outfit.

Fun-4-All may produce Sesame Street Action Figures

IIRC, they are the ones behind the "South Park" plush dolls.

What Disney is getting from Henson...

All this makes me wonder something. I am going completely on memory here, but didn't the opening titles to "Fraggle Rock" say something along the lines of "Starring Jim Henson's Muppets?" If so, would they now have to change the opening?

    Plush Sam at California Disney

Then perhaps this Sam is another Sababa Toys product, like the Chef bean bag the shop was selling a couple of months ago?
