    Workshop with Michael Earl

Well, sure you'll have more fun than we did when he came to England. He forgot to get a work permit and wasn't allowed into the country! Whoops!

In serious need of an Elmo style pattern for puppetry project

If this is for a design course shouldn't you be designing the character and making the pattern yourself?

    The work of Paul Vincett

And having worked with him on a build a few months back, he's also a really nice guy.

    Peter Robbins RIP

Received this very sad news earlier today. Peter was a great puppeteer, a fine actor and along side Nigel Ellacott one of the finest Ugly Sisters in Pantoland. He worked for the Henson Organisation on a number of projects. We are sad to announce the sudden death of PETER ROBBINS on the 14th...

    The PG Tips Monkey

Having seen the puppet I don't think it was made from real socks. Machine knitted perhaps? It was very well made, with a lot of weighty stuffing to keep shape.

Nigel Plaskitt is the principal performer. The puppet was made by Paul Jomain.

    You should see this

The multi talented Richard Coombs was the puppeteer. The puppet was made by Janet Knechtel when she was at Hensons.

How to build SAFE puppets for kids?

Im not sure about the States but in Europe toys have to meet a number of standards to be sold legally. You have to be very careful. http://www.ce-marking.nl/?gclid=CMebmMnevpYCFQSB1AodBAywwQ

Performing with a character in front of the puppeter

The English performers wear black. I'm confused, what do you mean by the physical appeal of the puppeteers? The main gimmick for getting the young audiences into Q in London has been the very cheap ticketing policy. Maybe they should get some comb overs!

Slip cast latex makes good puppets as well. And is far easier to use than foam latex.
